Appearance; Even in his childhood, Rodolphus was very handsome with naturally curly, dark brown hair and greyish green eyes. He is 6'1" tall and has always been the athletic type since he started playing Quidditch for the Slytherin team in his third year. He gave up Quidditch after he graduated but still stayed in shape.

History; Rodolphus and his brother were raised by their father Gaspard Lestrange and their stepmother Sophie Serlaine. Their real mother died when they were children; their father remarried five years after her death. Rodolphus lived in Montpellier, France, for the first six years of his life; then the Lestranges moved to England. Growing up under the strict eyes of his father, Rodolphus received the standard Pureblood education; he was taught numerous basic spells before he even attended Hogwarts. Rodolphus and his brother received a bilingual education and they speak both English and French fluently, due to their French ancestry.

Despite not having any friends before Hogwarts, Rodolphus's childhood was a relatively happy one. His father was acquainted with some of the old, British Pureblood families which is why Rodolphus met some of his later friends (Lucius, Narcissa, Bellatrix) already at an early age.

He had always been fascinated with Bellatrix; she had something mysterious about her that intrigued him, and he decided very soon that she was the girl he was going to marry some day. He didn't let the fact that she didn't seem interested in him at all discourage him, and even though he had a multitude of other women and men in his teens (and afterwards), she always remained the one he wanted.

He attended Hogwarts in 1968 and was sorted into Slytherin. While not the best in his year, Rodolphus was always considered a good student and was relatively popular with the teachers. He was always fascinated with the Dark Arts and loved experimenting with dangerous, forbidden spells. In his third year, he joined the Slytherin Quidditch team as a Chaser.

He graduated from Hogwarts in 1975 without any precise plans for his future. His father died only a year later, and Rodolphus decided to live off his inheritance for a while before something better came along and he found his calling.

Some time later, he and Bellatrix got together and married a short time later. When Bellatrix joined the Death Eaters, she convinced him to become a follower as well. He was never really a Pureblood supremacist until he started hanging out with the Blacks and Lucius, but he quickly saw that they had a point, and he became one of them.

Personality; Ever since he was a child, Rodolphus has been quiet and dislikes being the centre of attention. He has always avoided fights and arguments, but if he gets into one, he usually wins and gets his way. He is intelligent and observing and despite his quietness, Rodolphus is usually very passionate about whatever he does. He always gets what he wants, is jealous, ambitious and sarcastic.
Strengths & Weaknesses; Rodolphus has always been a good student and is therefore talented in many subjects such as Transfiguration, Charms and Potions. Other subjects such as Arithmancy, Runes and History of Magic are not his strengths. Rodolphus's greatest weakness is his jealousy, and it is one of the few reasons why he even joined the Death Eaters in the first place. His wife's fascination with the Dark Lord worries him, and to make sure nothing happens between them, he agreed to become one of Voldemort's followers. He can be a very controlling and mistrusting husband, even though he himself not exactly the most faithful person in the world.
Habits & Quirks; When he's thinking, Rodolphus tends to stroke his chin. He smokes and sometimes drinks excessively.
Friends & Enemies; Rodolphus's good friends include Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape, his brother Rabastan Lestrange and several Death Eaters, such as MacNair, Rosier and Rookwood. He also has a good relationship with his sister-in-law Narcissa. While he doesn't have many close friends -- it's hard to find people you trust among the Dark Lord's followers -- he usually gets along with everyone, due to his relatively quiet nature. Like most Death Eaters, his enemies are Mudbloods and people who fraternize with them.

Likes; His wife Bellatrix, family and friends, the Dark Arts, good-looking men and women, sex, good food, French wine, travelling, duelling, classical Wizarding music.
Dislikes; Bella's obsession with Voldemort, Mudbloods, blood-traitors, people who are below him, in general.
